Netiquette

Netiquette is basically a set of rules for the online world. The word netiquette comes from the two words 'Etiquette' and 'Network'. Netiquette affects everybody that uses the internet. You don't want to go around starting Facebook fights everyday, because that's an example of poor netiquette. An example of good netiquette is if you have a problem with something somebody said online, send them a private message them, instead of just putting it out for everyone to see. Poor netiquette would also be not respecting other peoples privacy (sending them spam).

What's Legal?

          Mp3 Music files have been out for a while, but finding the correct way to download the media is the hard part. File Sharing can be legal, but a lot of the websites out there violate copyright laws. You CAN make your own CD for yourself, but you may not distribute that CD to someone else. So if what you are getting seem too good to be true, it probably is. For the newest hit songs, you're going to have to pay for them. Don't plagiarize somebody else's work, because that is where you will get in trouble with the law. The sad thing is, you can go to prison for a longer period of time than what a killer goes there for. 

Michael Bolton vs The Isley Brothers

The Isley brothers, in 1966 wrote a song called "Love  Is a Wonderful Thing". As did Michael Bolton 25 years later, named "Love Is A Wonderful Thing", published in 1991. The Isley Brothers sued Michael for partially stealing parts of the song. I listened to both of these songs, and i could hear the parts that the Isley Brothers were talking about. It was during the chorus of the song. By the looks of things, the Isley Brothers won the case and were rewarded 5.4 Million dollars, making this the largest reward in history of copyright.

My Christmas Holiday Tradtions

  Christmas day for me is pretty hectic. First, my family doesn't wake up at like 6:00 a.m. to open presesnt, we like to be up by at least 9, so we can make the 11:00 mass. We've done this every year, and i can't complain about sleeping in! After my direct family goes to church, we go straight to my Grandparents' house for more presents. But, before we do anything, we eat this awful tasting bread. this has been a tradition in my dads side of the family for years, so we have to eat it anyways. After we are done at my grandmas, we go home for about 3 hours. Now the boring part of the day is about to come. We go on a two-hour car ride to my Great-Grandpas house for some small gifts, but mostly just to see him, and the rest of my moms side of the family. After my Great-Grandpas house, we go home. About now it would be 9:30, and we have to drive 2 hours home! So, my Christmas is very busy, but it still manages to be my favorite holiday.

  The thing I look forward to the most is not even on Christmas day; it is on Christmas Eve. My moms side of the family all go to my Grandmas house, and we have a huge gift exchange! It's fun to see what everyone got eachother. So you could conclude that i spend my Christmas with my whole entire family.

Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking is the ability to bookmark your favorite websites online, and access them from any computer. I believe that this is useful because you don't just save websites to your favorites on only one computer; you can save them on a website and access it from any computer. It is useful to everyone and for everyone. I will use it in my school to go directly to any useful website I found in my previous years of school. Diigo is a great example!
